How to set up a blog in Wordpress

Hi Year 10 students,

To fix our problem of not having access to Google Blogger, I have found a better way to create our own blogs.  While I was at the recent VITTA Conference I attended a session dedicated to all about the "Social Classroom / Connected Classroom".

During this session the topic of creating classroom blogs came up, and the best way that the people in the group believed was to work with a program called Wordpress.com


The YouTube clip above shows you exactly how to create your own blog using your own PC.

This week we will be working with Adobe Flash, which is an animation program that allows you to embed these files into your own blog or website.  The programs that we will be creating during class will be an animation that follows a specific path and also an animation of a bouncing ball.

Year 10 ICT Cool Communications

Welcome to Year 10 ICT Cool Communications

This IT elective looks at the cool aspects of ICT in the form of Animations and Web Design. 

In the first unit students will have the ability to create different animations ranging from Adobe Flash to creating their own cartoon strips on the internet to their own voiced avator. 

This will allow students to experience the wonderful world of Web 2.0, which is a concept that gives everyone the ability to create animations via the World Wide Web.

In the second unit, students will develop skills in create their own web pages through the use of Adobe Dreamweaver.  This program allows students to develop their own creative websites using a number of key skills.  Coupled with the key skills learn in both units, students will at the end of this subject be able to create websites that have animations built into them.
